Rockbridge County Schools are spending up to $141,000 for new school-safety projects, including the addition of a shatter-proof glass wall in the high school’s library.

Markus Ruley, a volunteer firefighter in Rockbridge County, is one of only three adults in the county currently seeking basic certification as an emergency medical technician.

Buena Vista mayor-elect Bill Fitzgerald is ready for a new city manager.
In an interview on Wednesday, Fitzgerald said that it is time “for the city to move forward,” suggesting several changes, including the replacement of Jay Scudder with a new city manager.
