Born and raised in Atlanta, Ga., I developed an interest in journalism while attending Holy Innocents' Episcopal School (HIES). In May 2015, I graduated from HIES after taking three years of broadcast journalism courses. The following fall, I began my first term at Washington and Lee University (W&L) pursuing a bachelor's degree in journalism and global politics.
At W&L, I took a range of journalism courses including beat reporting (covering politics and elections), digital journalism, reporting on education, anchoring, editing for print and online media, broadcast production, social media and in-depth reporting. I graduated from W&L in May 2019.
Outside of the classroom, I completed two journalism internships. In the summer of 2017, I wrote for the Northside Neighbor, a local paper in the northwest region of Atlanta, Ga. The following summer, I worked for the Roanoke Times in Roanoke, Va. In April of 2019, I won a Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Award for a feature story I wrote while working at the Roanoke Times.
In October of 2019, I began working at WGME. I was originally responsible for the 4:30 and 7:00 A.M. newscasts. I was then moved to the 6 A.M. newscast but served as an interim executive producer for three months during the pandemic while my station looked for a morning EP. I have also worked overtime volunteering for most other shifts at the station, both on mornings and nightside.
I began working for Fox 13 News in Salt Lake City in March of 2021. I took on the 6 a.m. show and was quick to learn about a entirely new demographic. Over time I also worked on most of our other newscasts and would regularly produce the 9 p.m. show on Friday nights. While working mornings, I helped set the direction of news we would produce that day and which stories we would prioritize.
In February of 2023, I moved to Washington, D.C. to help build a new independent station called DC News Now. I jumped straight into the 6 p.m. news show and helped set the agenda for our nightly newscasts. A few short months later, I took on the responsibility of our 10 p.m. news show. Since then we have grown into a competitive station with growing ratings, and with a show I am extremely proud of producing.
